Job Description
Job Summary Care Companion is the continuous point of contact in a clinic/hospital for cancer patients after presentation, from initial diagnosis to post treatment follow up. He/She has the responsibility for monitoring, coordinating care and educating cancer patients and families in the cancer care journey. He/ She acts as the front liner for patient report/sample management along with patient health data collection/entry and follow up. Responsibilities and Duties As the care companion, you are required to do the following:
Gather pertinent information about the patient’s medical and family history. Record information in the forms provided.
Coordinate with the doctor and patients to assist in organizing appointments while closely working with the patient care givers and doctor’s/hospital’s team
Assist cancer patient/caregiver with accessing all the available resources for cancer patients that are provided by the doctor/hospital.
Work with the central team to provide counselling support and community program support to patients based on the need.
Digitize the patient’s record and maintain the optimal data structure for patient data management throughout the treatment timeline.
Communicate with multidisciplinary teams as needed to complete assessment.
Provide emotional support to the patients as needed.
Keep patient/care giver involved in plan and moving toward self-directed care
Be an advocate for the patient.
Participate in oncology community events and educational events to maintain and expand professional skills.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Build awareness of the existence and role of care companion among patients.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Degrees: Bachelors, preferably in Allied Healthcare (cancer care will be preferred), Social Work ,Nursing or Life Sciences/Biotechnology
Experience: 1 or more years of relevant experience in a hospital preferred.
Freshers can be considered

Fluency in Kannada, Telugu, and English are preferred.
2) Skills- Demonstrate a general understanding of oncology illnesses and treatment modalities. Strong communication and organization skills. Skill in coordinating care needs. Ability to communicate and work effectively with the physical and emotional developments of all age groups. Demonstrate ability to work in a team situation. Basic computer skills. Basic Sample handling.
Soft Skills- Communication skills and emotional intelligence. Demonstrate an ability to assess patient needs and empathy towards patients

Depending on performance and additional education, Care Companions can progress to Care managers, or get into operations/ sales
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: INR 20,000.00 – 25,000 /month
Experience:

Bachelor’s in Biotechnology or any medical domain ( preferred ), Undergraduates having knowledge of medical terms and open to learning specific medical terminology can be considered
