LOCATION – DABASPET – CANDIDATES STAYING NEAR DABASPETE SHOULD ONLY APPLYPosition Summary – Chemist is responsible for developing architectural paint & other water-based paint for industries. The position requires significant level of understanding of customer’s / marketing team’s unmet needs, performance targets, benchmarks, and establishing test protocols etc. and support application projects as needed. The objective of the role is to support overall business by ensuring quality checks including raw materials / finished goods, process checks, quality audit of manufacturing plants for admixtures. The position will be responsible for sharing manufacturer Test certificate (MTC) and on time dispatch. The position requires to coordinate with the other teams on day-to-day basis for RM testing, stock and update on any quality or technical issues etc.Primary Responsibilities: 1) Testing of raw material and finished goods as per protocol2) Ensuring on time dispatch of finished goods along with Manufacturer’s Test Certificate3) Troubleshooting in case of manufacturing/ processing issues4) Attending & resolving issues of – Customer/ site complaint5) Evaluating performance of additives & develop innovative products based on Silicone/Silane or hybrid materials with differentiated value proposition for paint and coating customers.6) Effectively manage multiple projects ensuring clear alignment of goals, objectives and deliverables with the needs of the business and the marketplace.7) Develop promotional documents and literature for new product introductions.8) Work effectively with a cross-functional team including technology, marketing, sales, manufacturing, etc.Competencies:
Strong understanding and hands-on experience with CAS formulations, additives.
Ability to handle multiple projects and to function effectively as a member of a cross-functional team.
Excellent English written and oral presentation skills.
Working knowledge of routine PC applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Minimum Qualifications – Degree in chemistry, chemical engineer or equivalent discipline Minimum 7-10 years working experience Hands-on industrial experience in formulations and new product development for paints and coating segment. Experience in water-based coating, paints, especially for architectural market is highly desirable.
Prior experience with formulating silane/silicones in coating systems will be an added advantage
