JOB DISCRIPTION : A client advocate is a healthcare professional who works directly with patients to help them navigate the complex world of healthcare. They are often the primary point of contact for patients and their families, providing support and assistance throughout the entire process of treatment.
Client advocates may work in any number of different settings, from hospitals to private practice clinics to public health departments. Regardless of where they work, their job is to provide compassionate service while helping patients understand their options and make informed decisions about their care.QUALIFICATION :
Associate degree required (MBA [preferred] and Bachelor’s degree)
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field. These disciplines provide a strong foundation in communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that are useful in this role.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Communicating with clients throughout the process to ensure that they understand what is happening with their case
Referring clients to appropriate community resources to address issues such as housing, mental health, family law, or substance abuse problems
Referring clients to other attorneys if the case requires specialized knowledge outside the advocate’s area of expertise
Reviewing court documents to ensure that all pertinent information is included in filings
Conducting interviews and providing emotional support to clients during times of crisis
Reviewing cases to determine whether they have legal merit and identifying issues that may be difficult to prove in court
Preparing offers or counteroffers on behalf of clients based on their financial situation
Helping clients prepare legal documents such as petitions or motions, and assisting them in court when necessary
Interacting with opposing counsel and other parties involved in cases to facilitate settlement agreements or prepare for trials
